JOB SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and supervises operations of the Radiation Oncology Center and the Hematology-Oncology Center. Provides administrative support and coordination between both cancer centers and UMH Hospital Administration/Senior Leaders, Marketing, Nursing, and Human Resources. Responsible for all management duties, to include budget formulation and management of both clinics, ensures regulatory compliance, quality management, employee management and staffing within the department. Monitors contract compliance, billing, collections, insurance payments, accounts payable. Reports to Chief Executive Officer. Exempt position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors patient scheduling, referrals, billing and collections of both cancer centers.
Assesses, identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates processes, technology, personnel, and facility needs required to achieve patient outcomes safely and cost effectively in a patient centered environment.
Collaborates with and guides the interdisciplinary team members in achieving patient outcomes, including pharmacists, nurses, nurse navigator, financial assistance, and registration/scheduling.
Responsible for safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of staff.
Responsible for investigating, documenting, and resolving patient complaints.
Coordinates and directs the patient accounting function in order to consistently produce accurate bills which are paid in a timely manner.
Maintains a current awareness of third-party reimbursement regulations and contractual arrangements with PPOs.
Prepare a review and analysis of monthly statements, all special financial studies, reports, etc., as requested or deemed necessary and provide to administration and/or UMSA Board.
Coordinates marketing strategies and activities with the Marketing Department and Senior Leadership Team with the input and counsel of the UMH Board of Directors.
Responsible for credentialing of physicians with managed care insurance companies.
Performs contract negotiation with payors and performs detailed analysis on reimbursement activities.
Works with Managed Care companies or designee in site visits/chart audits.
Maintains organizational knowledge of market and competitive trends and industry developments and effectively communicates to Senior Leadership Team.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree required (i.e. Nursing, Pharmacy, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration).
5+ years of experience in oncology required management experience preferred.
Required Skills
Must possess operational knowledge for Oncology Center Operations, hospital-based clinic knowledge preferred.
Experience with the financial functions/cycle of oncology clinics needed.
Marketing experience or knowledge preferred to market to local and surrounding customers.
Knowledge and support of the care coordination needed for cancer patients needed to provide care for this specialty.
Must be detail oriented, results-oriented, and analytical in patient and financial matters.
Superior ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
Advanced computer knowledge required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Knowledge in multiple Electronic Health Record systems a plus.

Job requirements include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting and reaching. Requires good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers. Requires ability to have good vision and hearing. Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary.
