Position: Operations Clerk - Loan Documentation Processor
Reports To: Senior Loan Systems Administrator
Indirectly Reports To: Senior Vice President of Loan Operations
Reports to this position: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Role Summary:
Responsible for preparation of early loan disclosures, loan closing documents, and documentation for the modification and renewal of existing credits.
Specific Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities) :
Complete and accurate entry of loan request information into the documentation preparation system for the completion of all loan related documents. This includes but is not limited to:- Newly originated loan documents.
- Loan estimates and closing disclosures in compliance with federal regulations.
- Modification and Renewal documents for existing credits.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations as well as applicable bank policies that must be in place prior to loan closing. This includes but is not limited to:
- Ensuring that the loan request is not subject to HOEPA.
- Verifying that registered business customers have an active status with the Secretary of State of NC or Corporate Commission Office of VA.
- Verify active duty status of consumers in connection with the Military Lending Act.
- Ensuring flood certification and/or flood insurance are in-place as applicable to ensure compliance with bank policy and regulatory guidelines, if applicable.
- Verification that lender collected identifying information for business owners in accordance with federal regulations.
- Assist branch lending personnel with any documentation preparation questions and corrections needed to ensure accurate and complete closing documents.
- Complete postal mailing of all required early disclosures.
- Possess the skills necessary to understand and navigate the loan origination system in order to extract loan request information needed for the completion of the document preparation process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required :
Ability to make sound decisions within proper authority and use good judgment based on authority vested by the Senior Loan Systems Administrator; know when to refer situations to a higher authority;- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify and interpret detailed documentation;
- Ability to work in a high-information, high-responsibility, frequently changing environment;
- Excellent initiative and drive skills, proactive teamwork, cooperation and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to plan and organize daily work flow to achieve set objectives and deadlines;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with a broad base of internal associates;
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills;
- Possess the necessary interpersonal skills to facilitate proactive teamwork, to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times;
- Ability to maintain a sound understanding of lending documentation practices, state and federal regulatory guidelines;
- Ability to identify problems and resolve them in a proactive, timely manner;
- Strong PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and web based applications.
Education/Experience Requirements :
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience;
- Two to four years of financial services experience preferred;
- Capable user of computer systems and technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, etc.
