Position: Operations clerk - Quality control
Reports to: Senior Loan Systems Administrator
Indirectly Reports to: Senior Vice President of Loan Operations
Reports to this position: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Role Summary:
Internal quality control of various functions within the Loan Operations Department.
Specific Job functions (Duties/Responsibilities):
- Accurate completions of various daily, monthly, and quarterly internal control functions which include but are not limited to:
- Daily general ledger balancing;
- Monthly general ledger balancing;
- Monthly review of imaged loan documentation;
- Monthly review of hazard, wind/hail and flood insurance coverage on collateral;
- Monthly review of missing loan documentation;
- Quarterly review of loans secured by negotiable collateral;
- Quarterly review of consumer credit disputes.
- Mailing of consumer credit score disclosure statements.
- Pre-check of loan request prior to submission to Loan Documentation Processor which includes but is not limited to:
- Verification of compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program;
- Verifying that a registered business customer has an active status with the Secretary of State of NC or Corporate Commission Office of VA;
- Checking active duty status of a customer in connection with the Military Lending Act;
- Reviewing lender notes in addressing any credit Red Flags;
- Verifying that lender has collected the identifying information in accordance with Customer Due Diligence rules.
- Verifying accurate completion of origination system records, necessary for completion of loan closing documentation.
- Act as Backup processor for returned mail in Loan Operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Ability to make sound decisions within proper authority and use good judgment based on authority vested by the Senior Loan Systems Administrator; know when to refer situations to a higher authority;
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify and interpret detailed documentation;
- Ability to work in a high-information, high-responsibility, frequently changing environment;
- Excellent initiative and drive skills, proactive teamwork, cooperation and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to plan and organize daily work flow to achieve set objectives and deadlines;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with a broad base of internal associates;
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills;
- Possess the necessary interpersonal skills to facilitate proactive teamwork, to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times;
- Ability to maintain a sound understanding of lending documentation;
- Ability to identify problems and resolve them in a proactive, timely manner;
- Strong PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and web based applications.
Education/Experience requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience;
- Two to four years of financial services experience preferred;
- Capable user of computer systems and technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, etc.
