The Operations Cloud Engineer works as part of an Infrastructure Team responsible for both on premise and cloud network environments. This position will work closely with all other teams to optimize performance and security on our infrastructure, and to assist incident management in the production environments.

Essential functions and key position accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of FDB Cloud and On-Premises production and pre-production infrastructure, ensuring systems availability, performance, capacity, and continuity through proper response to incidents, events, and problems
  • Work in unison with Infrastructure Manager and Development teams to gather requirements, design and develop, from the ground up, a reliable and scalable infrastructure using cloud automation tools for AWS and/or Azure
  • Responsible for automation to streamline and scale applications in the AWS production environment
  • Work closely with development teams to assist with the integration of their applications into the cloud pre-production and production environment
  • Assist infrastructure team members to troubleshooting and resolving on-premises, cloud and basic network connectivity issues
  • Performs support and cross training for peers and operations staff as required
  • Reviews and provides input to policies and standard operating procedures
  • Incident management and root cause analysis
  • Apply Agile and DevOps principles
  • Document processes and procedures for all tasks performed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
  • 5+ years of professional IT experience with expertise in networks and server infrastructure
  • AWS Certifications required, supplementary Azure certifications or fundamental knowledge preferred
  • Configuration and automation management with Ansible, Terreform
  • Shell programming such as Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python
  • Understanding of Basic networking - TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, VPN Tunnels

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of AWS – EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM, Route 53
  • Linux administration/knowledge - CentOS, Ubuntu
  • Windows Server OS, Win10/11 experience
  • Git/GitHub code repositories
  • Familiarity with server monitoring
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • IT Security best practices
  • Demonstrate proficiency in developing and reviewing code using multiple platforms and programming languages.
  • Sumo Login log management, Datadog monitoring and analytics tool
