Operations Consultant
Reporting to COO
Remote
OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Operations consultant to work to improve the quality, productivity, and efficiency of the organizational processes at our startup nonprofit. They will oversee, and build a process to maintain and scale our existing technology systems. Additionally they will develop policies, internal practices, and tools and ensure our programs are streamlined and operating smoothly. This role will report directly to the COO. This is a part time position on a 6 month contract, with the possibility to increase hours and extend the contract as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process
- Analyze, improve and create organizational processes, working to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency
- Create operational structures to provide visibility of team workflows primarily to management and director level and secondarily to the team at large
- Create documentation of various processes in our internal knowledge base
- Anticipate operational problems before they arise, and troubleshoot problems when they do arise
Systems & IT
- Oversee and scale our existing technology systems, which includes Hubspot, Google Suite, GUSTO, Task Management Softwares (Asana, Jira, Monday), Zoom, Acuity…etc
- Lead research and procurement for new systems and tools
- Setup new systems and tools for new and ongoing initiatives
- Lead training, onboardings and documentation on all systems and tools
- Work closely with our external IT vendor to support the above initiative
People & Culture
- Support our onboarding and team-building processes to promote the efficient uptake of new workflows, systems, and tools
- Support our internal goal-setting and employee engagement processes
- Help create policies and internal practices that contribute to efficient collaboration and communication across teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience designing and implementing processes in an operations role, some or all of which was in a remote setting- Analytical, systems thinker with an eye for efficiency through process and technology
- A proactive self starter who when they see a problem in driven to find the solution
- Detail-oriented and structured, work is organized, efficient and timely
- An excellent listener and communicator
- Ability to manage multiple streams of work and prioritize deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and thrives in a dynamic environment
- Legally qualified to work in the US
- Based in a time zone between EST and PST
PREFERRED QUALITIES:
- Nonprofit experience
- Ability to break down complex processes and systems in a digestible way
- Experience working with HubSpot, Gusto, and Google Suite.
PAY RANGE:
As a contractor the hourly rate is $45/hour.
