Job Description – Bartlett Performing Arts Center Manager
Reports to: Moline High School Assistant Principal (for Buildings, Grounds, Instruction, Computer and Finance)
Qualifications: Proven experience in theatre (preferably technical theatre) or equivalent experience:
Meets all mandated health requirements
Documentation of a clear criminal background check
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Performing Arts Center Manager (PAC) shall be responsible to the Moline High School Assistant Principal for Buildings, Grounds, Instruction, Computer and Finance. This individual shall have the responsibility to oversee and/or assist with all aspects of the Bartlett Performing Arts Center. All qualifications are considered essential to fulfill the requirements of the position of PAC Manager. Work hours per are not to exceed 25 hours on average per week. The PAC Manager’s work hours require flexibility that will include evenings and weekends to fulfill the PAC Manager’s duties during PAC events.
Specific qualifications, duties, and responsibilities are as follows:
· Become familiar with the Bartlett Performing Arts Facility Agreement
· Adhere to the BOE approved fees and guidelines for all contracts
· Experience with the technical aspects of performance, including an in-depth understanding of lighting and sound systems, equipment, set-ups, safety, and security programs
· High level of motivation; capable of considerable self-direction: strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
· Experience working with various individuals and constituency groups, both school-based (students, faculty, staff, administration) and community organizations
· Well-organized with evidence of the ability to receive information, process needs, create solutions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
· Maintain flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends
· Familiarity with the technical needs of cultural and entertainment performance groups
· Operate, maintain and safeguard the technical assets of the PAC, including the supervision of use of lighting, sound, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage facilities
· Determine the technical supports and special needs necessary for events and performances at the PAC in advance of production dates
· Assist guest designers and artists with technical matters
· Provide learning opportunities and instructional activities for Moline High School (MHS) students outside regular school hours
· Advise production managers and lighting and sound designers on the technical specifications and usage of technical equipment
· Supervise the implementations of approved technical designs
· Supervise and assist with set and stage construction and management
· Assist in recruiting, training and assignment of student or volunteer staff for individual shows outside regular school hours
· Assure adequate supervision for all events in the PAC
· Orient facility renters and visiting productions to safety, technical characteristics and other areas of the PAC and its operations
· Monitor the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment
· In coordination with the MHS Assistant Principal, arrange for the repair and replacement of equipment when necessary
· Perform, or seek professional assistance with, preventative maintenance of equipment
· Maintain inventory and order specialized supplies
· Collaborate with district and building facilities staff to fulfill all setup and logistical needs for PAC events
· Serve as primary contact for all facility issues with the performance hall and its systems
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of various groups, students, and others
· In coordination with the MHS Assistant Principal, coordinate and collaborate with MHS faculty and staff, manage the PAC calendar, including the scheduling of MHS performances, community and business events, special events and community groups
· Provide oversight and organization of community events, assuring house management and stage management
· Perform other duties as assigned
