The Operator – Sample Fabrication, is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of thermal barrier components to print and on time to meet customer needs. This requires understanding of manufacturing process(es), planning, communication and excellent execution. Ensure that raw materials are prepped and ready for use prior to sample builds. Provides additional support as needed to Quality and Logistics functions as it relates to samples. Must work in conjunction with Sample Technicians to ensure samples are produced on time. Must adhere to all relevant plant safety and manufacturing procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

  • Fabricate and assemble thermal barrier components.
  • Review drawings, work orders and other information to ensure the samples are made correctly.
  • Prepare raw materials for samples as needed, ensuring quality and quantity are acceptable.
  • Work with technicians and engineers to help develop best practices to make new and unique samples.
  • Work to constantly improve the sample making process.
  • Support development testing and feedback of new fixtures and jigs.
  • Patriciate in the 6S program to ensure sample area is in compliance.
  • Ensure company safety policies, procedures and expectations are understood and followed
  • Maintain a clean organized work area.

QUALIFICATIONS:*

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must consistently demonstrate company values of Safety, Quality, Teamwork, Customer, Integrity and Innovation.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical skills and troubleshooting equipment individually and through assigned resources for operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and electronic, and proven ability to relate with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of quality measurement systems and practices.
  • Strong planning, documentation and execution skills required. Attention to detail is a must.
  • Proficiency in use of database applications, web tools, and e-Learning tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently
