In this role, you will learn the skills required to become an ophthalmic technician – one of the most sought after type of medical professionals in the country! We will train you to perform complex diagnostic testing and exams, working side by side with our doctors to provide critical medical information that assists them in providing medical and surgical treatment of our patients. Your training will provide a path for advanced, internationally recognized certification in an exciting and growth field!

Essential Job Functions:
Assisting the physician with documentation of the patient's medical record
Transcribing the history and examination by the physician
Working up patients for eye exams and consultations
Performing diagnostic testing
Proficiency using EHR system; MDI experience a plus but not required (training is offered)
Proficiency in proper and accurate documentation
Strong written and verbal communication
Close attention to detail
Working closely with Ophthalmologist and Optometrist to provide the highest level of patient care

Education an Experience:
Certification/Experience preferred but not required
Lake Eye Associates will train the right candidate and we encourage individuals to apply who may be seeking a career change or advancement.
Previous experience within the medical field (preferred)
High school or equivalent education

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position located in either Wildwood, Leesburg, Lady Lake, Tavares, and The Villages, FL.
Travel to other locations as necessary

Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of standing and moving between workspaces.
Ability to travel between locations as necessary.
