POSITION SUMMARY:

Receive and process incoming orders for materials, merchandise, etc. Duties include informing customers of receipt, prices, shipping dates, and delays; preparing contracts; and handling complaints.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Obtain customers' names, addresses, and billing information, product numbers, and specifications of items to be purchased, and enter this information on order forms. – 25%
• Prepare invoices, shipping documents, and contracts. – 20%
• Receive and respond to customer complaints – 10%
• Attempt Upsell at every opportunity – 10%
• Confer with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel in order to expedite or trace shipments. – 25%
• Calculate and compile order-related statistics, and prepare reports for management. – 5%
• Other duties as assigned. – 5%

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School / GED
• Preferred Degree: Associate Degree in Communication
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a clerical or customer service setting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Superior Customer Service Skills
• Office Suite applications
• AS400 experience a plus
• Team playing abilities
