Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Workforce Development Manager, the Enrollment & Eligibility Specialist identifies and evaluates client needs to determine for which program(s) an individual may qualify. They review client paperwork and collect supporting documentation as required to document and determine eligibility. The Enrollment & Eligibility Specialist participates in outreach and recruitment events as a Goodwill representative in order to attract suitable participants.

- Utilize customer-service focused, relationship-building skills to conduct outreach and recruitment activities.
- Build partnerships with community organizations and provide consistent feedback loop with referral partners and Goodwill team
- . Screen applicants in-person, by phone or online using a web-based portal. Provide accurate and thorough Enrollment based on individual career or educational goals.
- Effectively communicate programs and services provided at Goodwill as well as connect applicants to community resources.
- Conduct enrollments and complete all evaluations and assessments applicable to a participant’s program enrollment.
- Efficiently and accurately enter all required participant information into Salesforce.
- Audit participant information in Salesforce identifying, investigating, and reporting compliance issues, irregularities, and work to help correct issues to ensure accurate reporting.
- Intervene in crisis situations, developing applicable interventions that are both efficient and ethical, and follow up plans to thoroughly address immediate and future needs while maintaining safety.
- Complete eligibility documentation and refer eligible participants to respective program(s) internally and externally.
- Conduct thorough follow-up with all program participants to ensure smooth transition into programs and continuity of services.
- Assist participants in the community computer lab with various assessments and online tasks to support participant goals and job readiness needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current grants, funding, programs and enrollment needs.
- Collaborate on achieving monthly, quarterly and yearly metrics and departmental goals.
- Always maintains strict confidentiality of participant information.
- Completes tasks in compliance with all company policies, procedures and legal requirements.
- Complete special projects and assignments as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
Work Environment
This job operates in varied environments which may include store, warehouse, mobile workforce unit, and office. Work environments will include indoor and outdoor locations with potential weather extremes. This role routinely operates office equipment.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is an active role. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills, lift up to 25 pounds, bend and possibly stand for prolonged periods of time as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Office hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., however some flexibility of the schedule is permissible with supervisor approval. As a non-exempt position, occasional night-time or weekend work will be required. Occasional day-time travel to supported locations is required.
Qualifications
The Enrollment & Eligibility Specialist will be a proven leader with the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three years of relevant experience or BA or BS degree in Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, Education, or other related field.
- Excellent critical thinking and client service skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including interviewing skills.
- Must possess understanding of marginalization and how it impacts those that Goodwill serves and employs.
- Exhibit respect for diversity of thought and have experience to advance it in teams/organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Windows OS, electronic data entry, internet search engines etc.
- Ability to counsel and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Working knowledge of the workforce, social services sectors and/or experience utilizing community resources.
- Strong background in developing and maintaining relationships between partner agencies.
- Basic understanding of legal requirements regarding employment (ADA, WOTC, etc.).
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Versatility and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility of work hours, schedule and willingness to cross-train.
- Effective management of processes and people; strong teamwork qualities.
- Effective, appropriate and professional communication and demeanor.
- Ability to recognize potential problems within processes and recommend appropriate solutions.
