Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists is looking to add a highly motivated, team-oriented, animal-loving Veterinary Technician to join our busy emergency department! This is a full time position and will require a combination of overnight shifts - shift differential available!
We are an AAHA accredited multi-discipline veterinary hospital providing outstanding emergency, surgical and internal medicine-focused veterinary care. As a technician in the emergency and critical care department, you are responsible for many aspects of patient care.

We are an AAHA accredited multi-discipline veterinary hospital providing outstanding emergency, surgical and internal medicine-focused veterinary care. As a technician in the emergency and critical care department, you are responsible for many aspects of patient care.
Our Emergency Veterinary Technicians are responsible for:
- Patient Care – direct care of hospitalized patients from emergency, surgery, and internal medicine departments including medication administration, fluid monitoring, vital parameter monitoring
- Client interaction – triage incoming emergencies, discharge of outpatient and hospitalized patients, in-hospital patient updates
- Anesthesia – monitoring of emergency surgeries and procedures, recovery from anesthesia, calculating anesthetic drug doses
- Technical skills – placement of intravenous catheters, medical math, radiography, troubleshooting fluid pumps, obtaining blood samples, placement of urinary catheters
- Interdepartmental communication/teamwork – opportunity to cross-train within multiple departments, case rounds with specialty doctors and technicians, opportunity to work multiple areas of the hospital, regular staff meetings
