POSITION SUMMARY
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or
ability required. Mixes paint according to specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color
- Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate
- Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and
- Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair
- Keeps the work area clean
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment,
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other
- Brush, spray, or hand rub finishing ingredients, such as paint oil or stain onto
- Mix finish ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades
- Remove excess solvent using cloths soaked in acetone or paint thinner
- Paint metal surfaces electrostatically, or by using a spray gun or other painting
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-year related work experience
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures; familiarity with freight industry
- Knowledge of equipment safety standards
- Possess organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Automotive Painting – preferred but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, bend, lift more than 50 lbs. repeatedly each day
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, and pull parts and part containers
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time each day
