Job Description:

· This is an open position in the Paint Department's test lab.

· The lab is responsible for testing new materials and processes before introduction into the North American plants.

Responsibilities of the position are as follows:

· Reviewing test matrices with project leads

· Using various instruments to measure paint quality

· Placing orders with paint suppliers for trial paints

· Maintaining inventory of the test lab's supplies

· Tracking the test lab's budget

· Measuring test panels and entering all data in reports

· Assisting project leads in issuance of final test reports

· Maintaining annual calibrations of all instruments

· Gaining environmental approval of test paint materials

Important Notes

· Team size – 8

· They test new paint materials – Technicians and engineers in the group

· The role has some administrative duties such as placing orders for paint materials and supplies.

· Technical duties include using measurement instruments to collect data from trial panels, entering data in reports, and assisting in final report issuance.

· Working with trial plans General paint industry exp would be okay (Read and carry through)

· Duration – 12 months (Possibility for an extension)

· Overtime – possibility – up to 45 hrs. (would be max)

· Day Shift; limited weekend work; no shutdown work

· Travel – little or no travel

· Onsite/Hybrid/Remote – 100% onsite

· Interview process – Star/Video interview with three managers - Duration 60 mins.

· Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

· Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects

· Able to take initiative to recommend projects, improvements, or cost reductions

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· 2 years technical degree or equivalent work experience

· Additional Qualifications (not required):

· Experience with paint measuring equipment

Experience with paint manufacturing, formulation, or testing

Salary: $34.00 - $34.48 per hour
