Primary Essential Functions:

As a Painter, you would be responsible for painting, maintaining and repairing surfaces of the building, furniture, rooms and equipment throughout the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

  • Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the hotel and facilities.
  • Ensure your area of responsibility meets all company compliance standards, utilizing the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing paint, matching paint and using brushes, rollers and spray guns.
  • Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces including, but not limited to, hanging vinyl paper, fabric and foil wall coverings
  • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering
  • Manage related supply inventory
  • Collaborates closely with other departments to coordinate on guest needs, concerns, room defects, special requests to ensure overall stay satisfaction.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, owners, supervisors and associates.
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Remain knowledgeable of emergency procedures, current resort projects, safety and security issues, reports damages or repairs as needed.
  • Maintain the proper appearance of uniform and nametag usage.
  • Assist with any additional tasks or special projects as assigned by Supervisor.

Education, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, thorough, and professional. Consistently provides exemplary customer service to guests, owners, supervisors and associates.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Working knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the painting trade
  • Knowledgeable in safety use for power tools and shop tools
  • Knowledgeable use of general maintenance tools and equipment
  • Organizational Skills
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in basic English in order to communicate with guest, co-workers and outside vendors
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • 2 years of job related experience is required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Required:

  • Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Physical, Environmental & Other Requirements:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job the associate must be able to be on feet 100% of shift for up to eight (8) hours per day. Pushing, pulling, bending, lifting and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be tolerant to various conditions of noise level. Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, and job description.
