Parent Room Resource Coordinator Job Description

School Year 2022/2023

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Parent room Resource Educator is responsible for supporting families towards the fulfillment of their child’s potential for intellectual, social, emotional, physiological growth and maturation by providing comprehensive family programs through home and parent group meetings. Be able to provide resources, insights to turn family engagement into a powerful school success plan. This position is a full time position with occasional weekend hours.

Report to the Director of Educational Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Coordinate cultural or recreational activities for support parent meetings that teach families how to enjoy healthy activities together.

Work as a member of the LBDNH team to recruit and publicize the program and encourage participation.

Work to give families helpful information, encouragement, and support.

Provide families with information on how to build skills, including SEL, math and literacy.

Assist families in accessing needed community and agency resources, facilitate referrals as necessary following the agency referral process.

Participate in Curriculum Training and Professional Development.

Frequently attend Prevent Child Abuse workshops and meetings and conferences for ongoing Professional Development.

Act as a parent/child advocate, establishing rapport with families we serve.

Work closely with the Family/Educator to ensure proper communication with families.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent communication skills required

Knowledge of child development, adult learners, and community resources services with an eagerness to learn new skills.

Flexibility and creativity.

Strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing and maintain case notes.

Team player with pleasant personality, eagerness to work with children and adults.

Sensitivity to the feelings and needs of adults with varied educational backgrounds and respect for families.

Ability to maintain confidentiality required.

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required

College Degree in Early Childhood preferred.

Experience (at least 5 years) working with at risk children, adults, and families preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $43,103.00 per year
