ATTENTION DOG WALKERS: The Wet Nose Project is HIRING!

The Wet Nose Project currently seeks a trustworthy and reliable dog lover to spend their days walking small groups of lovable pups in the great outdoors!

ARE YOU RIGHT FOR WET NOSE?

Your day will consist of maintaining a set schedule of pick-ups, walks, and drop-offs, as well as visiting clients’ homes for short let-outs and feedings. Walks range from 15 to 90 minutes each. Schedules are set weekly, but may vary week-to-week. Ideally candidates will have the ability to either dog sit in a client's home, or board dogs in their own home.

*We are looking for candidates who are open to as little as a few hours a week (mother's hours), part time 5-10 hours per week, but who may want to grow into 20-30 hours per week.**

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of our pups during transportation and walks.
• Access client homes, and (de)activating clients’ alarm systems before and after visits.
• Evaluate and adapting walks to each dog’s individual needs.
• Select/Recommend appropriate collars and harnesses to ensure safe, enjoyable walks.
• Walk dogs in all weather conditions.
• Communicate with clients about schedules, and provide visit summaries and feedback about habits and behaviors.
• Take photos of the pups for social media, and for texting to clients.
• Ideal candidates will be have the ability to provide occasional overnight pet sitting.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
• RELIABLE vehicle that can accommodate multiple dogs comfortably (we will provide you with a back seat dog hammock or barrier if needed).
• Availability between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday is ideal, though we will consider availability between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday as well. Ability to work occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours is a bonus.
• Ability to board dogs in your own home, or able to dog sit in client’s home is preferred.
• Must own a smartphone for email, text, and take/send photos, and MUST be comfortable using technology and our software.
• Willingness to work in ALL weather conditions.
• RELIABILITY AND PUNCTUALITY IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST. References required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Complete a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Registry check (CORI).
• Must have the physical ability to walk and control multiple leashed dogs on trails.
• Knowledge and life experience caring for dogs is essential.
• College degree.
• A good sense of direction!
• Legal to work in the U.S

Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
