Located in Western Henrico County near Short Pump, The Primrose School of Twin Hickory and the Primrose School at Westerre Commons are independently owned by a passionate and engaged ownership team. Both locations are a part of a national family of accredited schools serving infants through kindergarten, after-schoolers, their families and communities. With our Balanced Learning approach, we nurture curiosity, confidence, creativity and compassion.
We are seeking enthusiastic Part-Time Teachers who can provide support to all of our classrooms. Our ideal candidate will have some experience working with preschool age children and will be available to work Monday through Friday afternoons until 6:30 pm. Primary Responsibilities:
- $300 Sign-on Bonus!
- Our current Support Teacher compensation range is $14 - $17 per hour
- Hourly compensation within the range is dependent on education, experience and years of service

- Is responsible for the overall supervision and class functions of a group of children.
- Observes all rules and regulations of the Primrose School at Westerre Commons and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Implements the approved lesson plans and afternoon classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming.
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
- Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
