Parts Specialist

We are seeking a Parts Specialist to manage parts distribution for the repair of our material handling equipment and our numerous customers in the Chicago Metropolitan market area. We are a local, well-established company with thousands of satisfied customers whom we have accumulated and served over 50 years.

Duties include:

• Receive and process parts orders from both internal and external customers on the phone, through help desk software, email, and at the counter.
• Conduct research, read catalogs, manuals, and computer displays to determine correct replacement parts for our rental fleet and customer needs
• Maintain extensive phone and email contact with vendors, customers and technicians to ensure timely order fulfillment

• Pick parts and supplies to fill customer and technician orders.
• Process returns from customers and technicians.
• Check on backordered parts and communicate status accordingly to expedite orders
• Participate in parts department inventory.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with industrial equipment is preferred but not required – training will be provided
• Strong communication skills
• Must be comfortable working both independently, as well as in a team environment
• Basic Computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office products is a plus
• Experience using business systems (ERP) is recommended, but not required
• Time management

• Strong customer service
