Northside Behavioral Health Center has an opening for a Patient Access Services Representative in the USF area of Tampa.

Position Description:
The Patient Access Services (PAS) Representative may be responsible for performing functions in any of the following PAS modalities: Customer Service, Front Desk, Intake, Schedule, Financial Counseling, Cashier, Insurance and Document Imaging.
This position is Full Time, Monday-Friday. Hours vary between 7:30a - 6pm.
Position Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills, can easily learn various applications utilized daily.
  • Highly organized, strong documentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Greet clients/visitors and answer incoming calls promptly and politely
  • Schedule clients per guidelines and schedule interpreters as needed
  • Check-in and process clients according to guidelines
  • Complete required client documentation timely and accurately
  • Understand and explain all forms that require client or family member signatures
  • Maintain stock or appropriate forms and supplies and replenish as necessary
  • Identify and obtain insurance carrier information including initiate inquiry to the insurance carrier, confirm client eligibility and identify benefit authorization requirements
  • Calculate, document and communicate monetary obligation to client or family member per visit
  • Ensure financial application is complete and make satisfactory payment arrangements with client and family member
  • Obtains payments and issues receipts
  • Balances, deposits and reports daily transactions according to department standards

Required Experience:

  • Customer Service experience - 2 years
  • Clerical/Administration experience - 2 years
  • Medical Office experience - 2 years
  • Bilingual Spanish - strongly preferred

Required Education:

  • High School / GED required
  • Bachelor's Preferred
