Patient Care Representative Follow-Up Billing$17 - $18/hr.

Monday – Friday 8 am –4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
A major healthcare company located in Bellaire is seeking a Health Care company located in Patient Account Representative who will professionally assist inbound callers with follow-up calls concerning patients’ bill statements.
Follow-Up Patient Account Representative’s Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient medical accounts
- Update insurance information on patient medical accounts
- Make outgoing collection calls on aging accounts
- Support collectors for patient medical account updates
- Pull backups for refunds and referrals to collections
- Assist the team to get on track with processes and collection of accounts
- Research patient’s eligibility, EOBs, claim status, and online inquiries
- Reporting payment variances, claim rejections, and payor reimbursement issues to management
- Monitoring account reimbursement daily to ensure that payments are
- Researches denied claims takes the next course of action to resolve the account
- balances through EPIC Account work queues
- Previous patient account representative experience in a hospital setting
- EOBs, claims, eligibility Understanding of major insurance carriers
- Experience reviewing EOBs and claims using EPIC
- Accurate data entry
- Understanding of HIPPA laws
- Personal Injury, HMOs, contracted and non-contracted plans
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive, open, and friendly attitude to colleagues and clients
- Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills required
- Superior customer service and professionalism
- Research capabilities when confronted with an issue
