Overview:
3NW unit is a 28 bed Medical/Surgical, Telemetry & Bariatric Unit, where we specialize in the care of patients following surgery. Our primary patient mix includes General, Bariatric and Neurosurgical services. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients, and we accomplish this by combining proven nursing techniques, extensive post-surgical knowledge and top tier education and teamwork.

Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care Techs combine the job skills of a Nursing assistant, and the job skills of the Unit Secretary.
  • As such, Unit assistants may be scheduled some days of their schedule in the US role, and other days will be assigned as a NA.
  • Patient Care Techs work in tandem with the nursing staff to provide care to a group of patients on the Unit.
  • Under the Nurses supervision, the Nursing assistant will assist with activities of daily living, assist the patient with bathing, ambulating, walking and transferring and other activities as appropriate to the patient.
  • Patient Care Techs will take and record vital signs, and perform finger sticks for blood sugar.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
Qualifications:
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
Experience
  • Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous
  • Experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.

(The above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience ).


Licensure/Certification
  • Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $13.21-$21.58/hr depending on previous work experience.
