• Provide Relief Mental Health patients information on the billing and insurance processing of their services.
• Counsel patients on financial solutions available for out of pocket costs associated with care.
• Manage patient accounts in regards to billing functions and collections.
• Write and deliver benefit letters to patients
• Document entry and auditing in EHR
• Follow up with patients and care providers regarding patient payment schedules
• Liaise with insurance verification department to obtain accurate benefits information
• Timely processing and follow-up of patient requests for payment research, checking charges, insurance processing concerns.
• Identify when callers need to be referred to escalation staff for further assistance.
• Notifies patient and/or guarantor of co-pays/deductible/coinsurance as an estimation of benefits.
• Document account activity accurately and promptly during or immediately following each patient encounter.

• Understanding of medical billing, coding, and insurance terminology
• Detailed knowledge of the functions within the revenue cycle and how they interact in the life of a patient account.
