MANCHESTER UROLOGY ASSOCIATES – Manchester and Derry Offices Patient Representative

FULL-TIME - 40 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manchester Urology Associates (MUA), a privately owned medical practice is seeking an out-going, preferred Epic trained Patient Representative in their Manchester and Derry, New Hampshire offices. This position is responsible for various aspects of customer service, patient registration, patient scheduling and insurance pre-authorization processing. This position ensures superior customer service in answering in-coming telephone calls, registering patients with accurate information, patient scheduling for office visits and procedures, and works to secure in a timely manner insurance pre-authorizations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for incoming calls to the MUA to address all patient questions and/or schedule patients for appointments.

Provides superior in-person and telephone etiquette to all patients and visitors.

Registers patients in the Epic system and verifies the patient’s information to ensure accurate information.

Responsible for patient scheduling for office visits and procedures

Ensures pre-authorizations are completed in a timely manner. Utilizes resources available through the Epic system.

Assists in pre-registration activities to ensure the correct Primary Care Providers and insurance authorizations are in place prior to the patient’s appointments.

Assists with urgent processing of patient’s pre-authorization for radiology and other medical procedures.

Ability to function in high volume patient flow

Ability to balance multiple priorities

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Ability to communicate professionally with all patients, Providers, and staff focusing on outstanding customer service. Ability to work in an extremely fast paced, multi-task, environment. Able to be a team player. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Ability to accept constructive feedback and initiate appropriate actions to correct situations. Knowledge of HIPAA Confidentiality Policies and Procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One year Epic experience in a medical office with in-coming calls, patient registration, and insurance pre-authorization – preferred but not required.
  • Certification/Licensure: None
  • Software/Hardware: Computer, telephone, fax machine. EPIC Billing experience preferred.

This position is Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:00pm – this office is NOT open evenings, weekends, or holidays.
