Position Title: Payroll & Accounting Administrator
Job Class: Non-Exempt (hourly)/40 hours (Hybrid-not a remote position); $30-35/hour
Reports to: Accounting Manager


Founded in 1989, the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research (SIBCR) works with scientists to find treatments to improve the health and well-being of Veterans. Summary of Position:

Payroll and Benefits Administration

  • Payroll preparation for 100+ employees
  • Benefits administration
  • Assuring accuracy and timeliness of pay and delivering payroll reports
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll tax obligations and other legal requirements
  • Payroll-related communications with other persons or organization
  • Operating software related to payroll, MS office products, and payroll related equipment
  • Special projects or reporting as needed

Accounts Payable

  • Enter invoices, transfer e-invoice successfully, resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Match invoices to purchase orders, identify discrepancies, and ensure invoices are paid timely
  • Provide customer service in response to internal and external questions
  • Assist with projects and backup to other staff and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working with payroll, ideally with a nonprofit in WA state
  • 2+ years processing accounts payable
  • Familiarity with WA state payroll laws and policies
  • Familiarity with software related to payroll and accounts payable
  • Clear and professional oral and written communication skills by email, phone and in person
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Maintain and apply payroll and accounts payable best practices on policies and procedures
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Professional behavior to include punctuality, reliability, and good customer service

SIBCR Benefits

SIBCR Pays 100% (less $90/month) for Employees and 75% of Dependent Premiums per month.
