Overview:
Walbridge is seeking a customer focused, organized team player with great attention to detail to process Payroll in a fast-paced work environment. The payroll coordinator will perform payroll procedures that require policy interpretation, make changes to employee information, resolve discrepancies, and/or clarify procedures for employees, supervisors, managers and others.

The payroll coordinator shares in the process of weekly/biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, union trade employees through 6 multi-state payroll companies.

Responsibilities:
  • Enter new hire information accurately for union trades weekly payroll
  • Enter federal, state, local tax information and direct deposits
  • Review weekly / bi-weekly timecards for accuracy
  • Compute and prepare layoff checks when required
  • Verify time reports for accurate processing
  • Coordinate distribution of checks for all locations
  • Prepare and pay weekly/bi-weekly tax payments, garnishments, income withholding orders
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly union reporting
  • Assist in the submission of withholding payments and union fringe benefits
  • Keep updated on union agreement rates and conditions
  • Enter and update rates and benefits as required
  • Prepare necessary documents for union audits
  • Support training sessions for new employees on time reporting
  • Excellent customer service, assisting field and corporate employees with questions or special requests.
  • W2 auditing and processing
Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma with equivalent work experience. Associate degree in Business, Finance or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience required; construction industry or multi-state experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of construction industry related database software preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills. Must be a team player.
  • Ability to work with people at different levels.
