Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing the processing of all company payrolls and employee Time and Attendance. Ensures accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Ensures proper governmental reporting and compliance. Prepares statistical reports as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees for 6 operating companies

2. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

3. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

4. Understand proper tax treatment and processing requirements for wages and employer paid benefits

5. Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance

6. Receive and document any necessary approvals prior to processing any non-standard payments

7. Process accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, etc.)

8. Work with accounting team to calculate and update any accruals for non-standard payments

9. Process manual checks when needed

10. Update and reconcile statements from ADP

11. Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed

12. Monitors changes and remains current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters, 401(k) and other benefit deductions)

13. Oversees the preparation of required reports or payments to government agencies, insurance companies, or other organizations.

14. Oversees Time & Attendance system setup and time reporting; performing audits as needed

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

2. Minimum of 3 years experience calculating and processing in-house payroll

3. Prior supervisor experience preferred

4. Experience with ADP Workforce now preferred

5. Minimum of 1 year of payroll tax preparation experience strongly preferred

6. Base knowledge of applicable Federal and State HR/Payroll Laws (FMLA, FLSA, e.g.) and IRS regulations that impact payroll

7. Excellent processing skills and attention to detail

8. Ability to meet deadlines

9. Excellent written and oral communication skills

10. Self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible

11. Must be detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

12. Ability and experience working as a member of a team
