Matheson is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist for our Corporate Office location in Sacramento, CA.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will serve as the principle point of administrative contact for payroll, and liaison with internal and external constituencies. You will process weekly payroll for all Matheson Postal Services employees in a timely, accurate manner, and help answer questions regarding payroll hours. You will code and review all temporary agency invoices. You will be expected to develop superior knowledge of payroll related software and maintain a solid understanding of driver’s DOT logs, routes/trips. You will monitor employee performance regarding accurate timekeeping and identify variances. The successful candidate with have a great deal of mathematical skills and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- Demonstrated knowledge of customer service.
- Strong working knowledge of desktop computers and MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations
- Familiarity with processing payroll
Education/Experience: 3-5 years of experience in transportation industry. 3-5 years of dispatching experience in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment. 3-5 years of experience with accurate data entry. Progressive experience in an Administrative and or Administrative support role.
