Job Title: Payroll Specialist (hybrid)

Location: US-GA-Atlanta (Sandy Springs)

FLSA: Exempt

Job Overview:

The Payroll Specialist will be a key member of the HR team and will report to the Payroll Manager. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the processing and coordination of payroll and the processing of benefits associated with the payroll process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process multi-state and multi-province payroll preparation and completion for over 700 + employees in the US and Canada
  • Respond to employee inquiries concerning payroll, ensuring high customer satisfaction
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and SOX compliance
  • Perform monthly payroll close duties
  • Transmit payroll for each site and download payroll reports
  • Process garnishments
  • Work closely with HR Operations and HR during payroll processing to clear errors or make changes to ensure accuracy in processing
  • Calculate OT& variance hours and enter in payroll
  • Prepare and distribute semi-monthly payroll reports and adjustment to accounting and HR
  • Import hourly and salary employees into ADP
  • Knowledge of payroll processes as it relates to the interface between payroll processing and company benefits
  • Working knowledge of Open enrollment, Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, STD/LTD, Life AD&D, 401K, Worker's Comp, FMLA, unemployment claims
  • Create audit procedures and develop solutions for recurring audit findings and communicate detailed audit findings
  • Manage and audit employee expenses
  • Quarterly and year-end balancing and reporting
  • Serve as back-up to HR Coordinator for duties that relate to benefits and on-boarding of new hires
  • Ability to use independent judgement as it related to the payroll process
  • Ability to provide guidance to managers and supervisors as it related to payroll processes
  • Special projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing
  • College degree preferred
  • FPC preferred, but not required
  • Must have knowledge of payroll tax regulations, benefits processing, and government payroll filings
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Report Writing & Concur (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior verbal/written skills and communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to details
  • Must be able to keep information confidential and work with little supervision
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
