Raymond West is seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Supervisor to join our team! The Payroll Supervisor will perform and oversee accurate, correct, and timely payroll processing, reconciliations, and audits. Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll and in compliance with Federal/State/Local government regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Supervises all payroll related activities and processes.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Payroll

Prepare and process bi-weekly and commission payroll in compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws
Review timesheets for completeness and accuracy.
Contact various department supervisors for missed times.
Process transfer of payroll data to payroll provider.
Provide management reports from payroll software.
Decipher and troubleshoot payroll issues or questions, prioritize demands, and articulate recommendations clearly.
Complete quarter and year end process.
Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Assists in maintaining the payroll software system and generating required reports, trouble-shoots and resolves problems or errors in the data
Perform other duties as assigned.

Accounting

Special administrative projects/accounts that are essential to the department and/or the Company.
Perform related work as assigned by department management.

Advance knowledge of payroll operations and ability to resolve complex payroll problems

Must be able to perform intermediate Excel functions including conditional formatting; pivot tables; functional formulas and report writing.

Possess excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Flexible personal style to work with diverse personalities. Professional, yet personable demeanor.

Must be able to work varying hours/shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Experience with processing payroll through a provider equivalent of ADP, Paychex, etc.

Experience with working with multi-state payroll system is desired.

Strong knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws is required.

Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws and overtime requirements.

Associates degree or equivalent from college or technical school or more than two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY
Be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
