Test Analyst Responsibilities

  • Translate payroll as well as time and attendance business requirements into testing activities
  • Develop and execute Test Cases with an in-depth understanding of Payroll Processes including manual payroll calculations and leave calculations
  • Liaise with the development team, business analyst and SME's, in creating and documenting test cases
  • Ensure that any defects are documented, tracked, managed, and escalated as required
  • Interpret Awards & EAs and translate them into testing activities
  • Develop and maintain test cases to ensure comprehensive testing of the requirements utilising approved test tools
  • Clearly understand NES and be able to interpret multiple Awards & EAs
  • Problem solve and be resourceful in how you get things done
  • Ensure traceability of test cases back to requirements
  • Be responsible for System integration and User Acceptance Testing
  • Execute any or all of component testing, system testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, end-to-end testing, and user acceptance testing in accordance with agreed test cases and test plans
  • Maintain Test documents such as but not limited to Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Data, Test Evidence and Datasheets for automation in document repository

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience using Payroll systems and Payroll process experience (end to end), essential
  • A strong, demonstrable capacity to interpret and practically apply legislative instruments such as Awards, EA's, and relevant Acts
  • Experience in applying legislative payroll requirements centered around EBA/Award management, tax and employment law
  • Understanding of how to manually calculate payroll, back pay calculations and manual leave accrual calculations
  • Experience in Test Case Management Software
  • Experience in understanding EBAs and how to apply this to payroll processing
  • Advanced Excel (Essential)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good Mathematic skills
  • SDLC knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • HR experience (preferred but not essential)
