Schedule: PRN (Variable)
Location: University Kansas Health System – St. Francis (Main Campus)

Our hospital is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technicians (PCT) . We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Emergency Department where you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:
Patient Care Technician (PCT) duties include:
Provide patient care according to the Standards of Care defined within the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the policies and procedures of The University of Kansas Health System, St. Francis Campus.

Effectively manages department/patient activities in a time efficient manner to ensure the delivery of care is well organized and proficient.

Provides quality customer service to patients, families, co-workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to create a professional and respectful environment.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant through the Kansas Nurse Aide Registry
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior work experience in a comparable health care setting is preferred
Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to learn and to perform direct patient care and basic nursing procedures
Ability to interpret and communicate data relevant to patients’ needs and responses to care
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
OR
Certified Medical Assistant Certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior work experience in a comparable health care setting is preferred
Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to learn and to perform direct patient care and basic nursing procedures
Ability to interpret and communicate data relevant to patients’ needs and responses to care
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
OR
Emergency Medical Technician Certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior work experience in a comparable health care setting is preferred
Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to learn and to perform direct patient care and basic nursing procedures
Ability to interpret and communicate data relevant to patients’ needs and responses to care
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
OR
Certified Paramedic
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior work experience in a comparable health care setting is preferred
Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to learn and to perform direct patient care and basic nusing
