Venture Forthe, one of WNY’s leading home health care agencies, is looking for multiple Empowerment Services Certified Peer Supports to join our growing team of home and community-based service providers.
As an Empowerment Services Peer Support, you will be given the opportunity to make a dramatic difference in the lives of those who are struggling to reemerge into society due to a mental health illness.

Overview:
Peer Support services are peer-delivered services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus. They are designed to promote skills for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms while facilitating the utilization of natural resources and the enhancement of recovery-oriented principles
The structured, scheduled activities provided by this service emphasize the opportunity for peers to support each other in the restoration and expansion of the skills and strategies necessary to move forward in recovery. Individuals providing these services will do so through the paradigm of the shared personal experience of recovery.

All Peer Support Specialists MUST be certified as an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Peer Support or Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA-P).
At least 18 years of age
Must identify as being actively in recovery from a mental health condition or major life disruption ( as an event or series of events that leads to interruption in one’s health, home, purpose or community) and self-disclose one’s mental health recovery journey
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Satisfactory writing ability
