Responsibilities:
- Utilize shared personal lived experience to promote clients’ recovery, offering support, advocacy and skill development opportunities
- Provide coaching and consultation to clients to promote recovery and self-direction
- Model skills for, provide consultation and cross-training to other team members in recovery principles and strategies
- Actively participate as a member of a transdisciplinary team, maintain working knowledge of all clients served; contribute expertise as determined by client’s goals and needs identified in the person-centered plan.
Requirements:
- Professional Experience: Self identifies as an individual with a serious mental illness who is currently or formerly a recipient of mental health services in the process of recovery. Two years of positively referenced work, student or volunteer experience.
- Education: High School Diploma required.
- Certificate as Peer Specialist required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to navigate through applications and utilize keyboard to input required documentation into electronic health record
- Driving Record: Safe Driving Record
