Reporting to CIC’s Chief People Officer and as part of the People Success Leadership Team, the People Business Partner (PBP) is the senior interface between designated CIC business units or entities and the People Success Team. The PBP ensures a top-notch employee experience to drive CIC’s mission and success through attracting, engaging and retaining a diverse, high-performing, and innovative workforce.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
You will partner with leaders, employees, and our People Success Team’s Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to ensure that business objectives are understood and achieved through our people strategies. You will develop and maintain an effective level of business literacy, including financial position, culture and competition, and the current status and midrange plans of designated business units/entities. You will work with leaders and teams to assess and strengthen talent needs and practices, as well as their use of the talent tools, programs, and resources. You will lead a two-person Business Partner team that performs these functions.
Potential responsibilities will include:
- Consulting with management and providing talent guidance, including day-to-day performance and career management advice and facilitation (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning, and driving these processes forward.
- Identifying professional and leadership development, and coaching needs for business units.
- Partnering with CoEs and managers to develop terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers, ensuring equity and diversity within business units and across the organization.
- In partnership with CoEs and business partners, establishing metrics and analyzing trends to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Using metrics to determine and engage leaders around talent priorities.
- Partnering with CoEs to recruit and onboard new employees and to evaluate, adjust, and monitor talent programs, systems, and policies to ensure talent objectives are met.
- Managing and resolving employee relations issues.
- Maintaining solid knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Providing talent policy guidance and interpretation; working w/CoEs to update, develop and implement policies to ensure legal compliance.
- Consistently and actively participating in business unit/entities meetings to understand objectives and calibrate talent priorities.
- Initially serving as the primary point of contact and representative of the People Success Team for US employees.
- Managing a junior-level Business Partner in responding to requests across the organization, and delegating tasks and responsibilities to ensure successful, timely partnership and support is delivered.

- Thorough understanding of relevant employment laws and the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to facilitate change effectively so stakeholders embrace and advocate for change.
- Experienced super-user of various HRMS.

YOU HAVE
- A bachelor’s degree in HR, OD, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of eight years of related professional experience including resolving complex employee relations issues, and people management.
- Working knowledge of multiple talent disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, DEI, performance and career management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Experience establishing and using workforce metrics to understand organizational strengths and development opportunities, and initiate and drive successful change.
- Experience building and/or revamping talent programs and initiatives.
- Experience scaling practices in a high-growth and/or start-up company or business unit preferred.
- A track record of continuous learning in talent disciplines; certifications are a plus.

- Starting compensation is $100,000 annually.
