Job description
Classroom training will involve curriculum from the National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP). Upon completing 35 hours of instruction, the corps member will have the opportunity to sit for an exam and earn an industry recognized certificate. Fieldwork will focus on surface level maintenance of the City’s green infrastructure installations and other public green spaces equipping Corps members with knowledge and skills to be employed in the future by various trades such as electricians, bricklayers, iron workers, and more. You will be notified to attend an informational session upon review of application.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles. Will work outdoors and conditions are typically loud. When in classroom training, work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust and conditions are typically moderately quiet. *Please notify the Human Resources Department if accommodations are required to participate in the selection process.
This is a temporary or part-time position that is not covered by any City of Peoria benefits.
