Job Summary
The Performance Excellence Consultant supports CHOC’s Performance Excellence team through consultation, facilitation, coaching, education, and project work. Functions as a change agent utilizing improvement science methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in operations and reduce operational and clinical risk in the healthcare system. Designs and leads improvement initiatives using improvement science methodologies. Manages improvement science projects and facilitates improvement events/activities. Serves as an expert consultant and advisor in improvement science methodologies. Assists departments and associates in the use of improvement science tools, project management, and change management tools. Helps build internal capacity and capability by coaching others in the use of improvement science tools. Provides Performance Excellence training to CHOC associates in classroom and virtual settings, within meetings/workshops, and informal ways. Engage and lead improvement of internal processes and systems.
Experience
Required: Minimum 3 years improvement science (lean six sigma) experience. Minimum 6 months experience training, coaching and facilitating.
Preferred: Healthcare experience. Previous work as a Project Manager.
Education
Required: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, quality, science, business, engineering, or related area.
Preferred: Master’s degree in healthcare, quality, science, business, engineering, or related area.
Training
Required: Certified lean six sigma green belt, IHI Improvement Advisor, or equivalent.
Preferred: Certified lean six sigma black belt. Change Management certification.
Special Skills
Required: Must be detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others ability to build and establish positive relationships with stakeholders and associates at all levels. Experience managing multiple projects/activities while maintaining exceptional working relationships. Intermediate or advanced MS office suite skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
