We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Permanent Building Substitutes to join the Quinn Middle School community. Candidates should be able to contribute to a positive environment for student learning and involvement, embracing cultural diversity and multiple perspectives. Hold a strong belief that all students are capable of achieving.A Permanent Building Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instruction, classroom management, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Permanent Building Substitutes are expected to fulfill all assignments in any school/subject/grade level.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building for daily assignment.Reviews with the principal or school secretary all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.Consults with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns.Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which s/he is assigned.Develops and maintain a positive learning environment.Works cooperatively with all staff.Respects student privacy by maintaining confidentiality of privileged information.Teaches the lesson outlined and as prepared by the absent teacher.Consults as appropriate, with the building principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures.Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.

Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.Performs any other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal or designee may from time to time assign.Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are core values of the Hudson Public Schools. The substitute is directly responsible for safety, well-being, and work output of students.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, depending on the nature of the assigned course.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the substitute rarely performs routine work. The substitute frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). The substitute frequently works within time constraints and maintains a high level of attentiveness. The substitute is frequently involved in social interactions, which require great oral and written communications.

The substitute frequently will have to walk, stand, and move throughout the course of their shift to fulfill the essential functions of this position. The substitute would need to be alert and aware at all times. Salary: 33 hours/week, $100/day. Benefit Eligible.

3 personal days & 12 sick days prorated pursuant to hire date. Summers, school vacations, and holidays off. 180 work days
