Job description
Empower Solar is a full service, residential solar installer looking experienced and driven individuals to join our ever-expanding team. We are currently looking for a full-time Permit Coordinator, responsible for managing the permits required for each solar installation. This job focuses on the online and in-person submittal of permit applications located throughout our working area and following these permits through the approval process.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Review, prepare, submit, and receive permits at authorities having jurisdictions that Empower Solar is Operating in with accordance of jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate payment and reimbursement of permit fees according to company guidelines
- Utilize software systems for project updates to record progress of various tasks and stages of the permitting process.
- Daily follow up on previously submitted projects
- Assure all new permit submittals are actioned within a 24hr turnaround time of being ready to submit for permits in efforts of hitting monthly quotas set by management
- Coordinate with Design and Engineering teams to execute AHJ corrections and resolve any issues.
- Advocate for the company at local jurisdictions to help streamline permit processes while utilizing AB2188 regulations.
- Understand local AHJ requirements as it relates to the permit process and update the companies AHJ database with permitting requirements as needed.
- Schedule appointments with AHJs as needed for permit submittals.
- Reports daily production and findings to Branch Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, and work with various tools and equipment in the office. Have the ability to listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally.
Requirements:
- Clean driving and background record
- Valid CA Driver's License
- The ability to travel within California.
- Possesses Self Confidence, drive, enthusiasm, and a sense of responsibility.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to discuss strategic and sensitive issues in a confidential manner.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Preferred Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of PV and PW solar inspection knowledge and experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of general Construction knowledge and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
