ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
- Fill and dispense medications as prescribed by providers, verifying any patient allergies prior to filling.
- Collect appropriate fees and enter charges for authorized patient insurance billing for medication.
- Inform eligible patients and schedule them for Comprehensive Medication Review (CMR), making reminder calls and scheduling follow up appointments for interventions identified during the CMR.
- Complete Target Intervention Program (TIP) data.
- Maintain computerized patient pharmaceutical information.
- Offer medication consultation with each patient at the point of dispensing, conducting patient education on the appropriate manner in which the medication is to be taken/used.
- Offer medication consultation to medical and dental staff.
- Receive and respond appropriately to patient inquiries, concerns and complaints in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain the prescribed system of accountability for controlled substances, syringes and other pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist in maintaining adequate pharmaceutical inventory, monitor stock for outdated drugs and disposes of them in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform or assist with annual pharmacy inventory audit.
- Exhibit compliance with FHC?s corporate compliance policy.
- Perform job activities in ways that are respectful, courteous and responsive while interacting with patients, visitors and co-workers.
