Job description

You.

You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Regional Float Pool Pharmacist.

Your pharmacy knowledge is second to none: your patients feel it in the expertise you share. Families feel it in your communication. Colleagues feel it in your support.

You know when to move quickly. When to sit quietly. When to laugh loudly.

You’re generous with your thoughts, your partnerships and especially your knowledge, because your coordination of all things drug related is crucial.

You’re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.

Us.

System Float Pool is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our clinical float and travel program staff serves in a variety of specialties throughout our hospitals in Colorado and Montana.

Our Regional Float Pool serves 3 of our Denver area hospitals, including:

  • Good Samaritan Medical Center – Lafayette
  • Lutheran Medical Center – Wheat Ridge
  • Saint Joseph Hospital – Denver

Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.

We.

Together we’ll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We’ll encourage joy and take pride in our integrity.

We’ll laugh at each other’s jokes (even the bad ones). We’ll hello and high five. We’ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.

We’re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.

Your day.

As a Regional Float Pool Pharmacist you need to know how to:

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications. Reviews patient’s medication order for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interaction. Make appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use. Ensure safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for SCL Health patients.
  • Provide counseling to patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence. Ensure patient is well informed, treated with respect, and receives the highest level of professional level service. Ensures prescriptions are accurately billed and dispensed to the patient.
  • Supervise and directs activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required. Provide medication related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals. Participates in the evaluation and selection of formulary medications.
  • Perform in an efficient, professional manner to meet pharmacy profitability and productivity targets. Ensure compliance of the pharmacy with state board regulations.
  • Take the initiative to solve problems including, but not limited to, equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing issues, and extraordinary patient care concerns. Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff, and takes appropriate actions. Participates in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback.

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with a five-year Bachelor of Science Degree or Pharm D, required.
  • Current licensure by the state of practice in Pharmacy, required.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required.
  • Current Immunization certification, required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in an outpatient or retail Pharmacy, preferred.

Your next move.

Now that you know more about being a Regional Float Pool Pharmacist on our team we hope you’ll join us. At SCL Health you’ll reaffirm every day how much you love this work, and why you were called to it in the first place.
