As a full time, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Pharmacy Aide at the Montana State Hospital, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy with all work checked by a Registered Pharmacist. Tasks include transporting medication from the pharmacy to the various hospital nursing units and return any returned patient medications back to the pharmacy; inventory management of all medication in the pharmacy which will include price checking, stocking new orders, restocking all remaining shelves appropriately; monthly medication room audits, pulling expired medications from night lockers and emergency carts/boxes; and perform any other pharmacy related duties as directed. Administrative duties include answering phones and window bell, maintaining the library, delivering mail, maintaining files, faxing documents, restocking printers with paper, maintain a clean pharmacy work environment and perform other administrative duties as assigned. This position requires driving on a daily basis, up to 2 hours/day, delivering medications to other hospital facilities located outside of the main campus. This position requires the ablility to lift 30lbs. or more on a regula basis.
Schedule: This full time, nonexempt position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday, day and evening shifts, with occasional weekend coverage as needed. There may also be occasional overtime required. The starting wage range for this position is $16-$17/hour depending on experience.
About the Facility: The Montana State Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults with serious mental illness. The facility includes 174 licensed hospital beds; 42 adult group home beds; and a 54 bed forensic unit for a total of 270 beds. The hospital pharmacy provides centralized support to all of these facilities plus other state facilities.This position requires the ability to lift 30lbs. or more on a regular basis. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.
About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy uses QS/1 Prime Care to process physician orders, billing medication, generating reports, and processing third party and Medicare/Medicaid contracts. Cart fills and unit dose packaging are processed through Omnicell. The pharmacy is open 7:00am-9:00am, Monday through Friday; 9:00am-5:30pm, Saturday and Sunday; and all holidays with 24-hour on call.
Required Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license in the State of Montana
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfort driving during winter months
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skill in collaborating and cooperating with others
  • Attention to detail

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination)
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • COVID Vaccine-Full (required)
