Pharmacy Technician Instructor

Reports to: Director of Education

Position Summary:

The Instructor teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for developing, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and retention activities within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· As a faculty member, fulfills all the functions and responsibilities of teaching the assigned course load as directed by the DOE/Dean.

· We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach Pharmacy Technician classesd in our Allied Health program. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Director of Education. The primary responsibility will be to teach Pharmacy Technician courses. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.

Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

• Associate/Bachelor’s/Master’s degree Preferred
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills.
• Minimum of 3 years of significant Pharmacy Technician experience in a clinical setting
• Must have OR be willing to obtain credentials as a CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Post-secondary teaching experience preferred
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Team player who demonstrates initiative, dependability and reliability
• Have the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Must pass security background check and drug screen

Classification: Exempt

Work Hours: Evening hours, as well as daytime hours, on a regular basis.

Working Environment: Interior/Office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Dental assisting: 5 years (Preferred)

• X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
