We are looking for a Phlebotomy Coordinator to join a team of Healthcare professionals in Gastonia, NC permanently.
Job Description
- Provide daily operational specimen collection and phlebotomy support for both inpatient and outpatient departments.
- Coordinates laboratory specimen collection resources and tools for laboratory staff and customers.
- Supports phlebotomy staff planning, training, competency assessment, scheduling, and collections on alternate shifts as needed.
- Coordinates daily phlebotomy assignments for census and collection management.
Qualifications:
- Monitors quality issues and trends related to specimen collection to identify source of error and opportunity for improvement.
- Maintain specimen processing, registration, and order entry competency to serve as backup staffing when needed.
- MLT (ASCP) registration or eligible with phlebotomy clinical experience, or phlebotomy certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA required with 3-5 years or experience laboratory experience including phlebotomy, laboratory specimen registration and processing.
- Experience as phlebotomy team lead preferred.
- Alternatively, candidates with bachelor’s degree w/ biology, computer or management courses, phlebotomy and/or clinical training will be considered.
- Thorough knowledge and skill of performing specimen collection and pre-analytical processes.
- Considerable computer, communication, customer service skills.
- The ability to work independent of supervision, accept responsibility and make decisions.
- Considerable skill in planning, organizing, and teaching.
Shifts Available:
- M-F 6:30am-3pm
- M-F 8:30am-5pm
Pay: $17.00-21.00 - Based on expereince reflected in Resume.
**Must be open to working a weekend here and there when needed (maybe every 4th weekend) and some holidays. **
