The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications / resumes for part time Afterschool Photography Counselors for our B3 (Middle School) Afterschool Program. The B3 Afterschool Program is a grant-funded program serving students attending 5th through 9th grades at 3 sites within Perth Amboy, NJ and is funded by the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Program.

Under the guidance of the Site Coordinator, the Afterschool Photography Counselor provides direct supervision of a group of children in the middle school program. The Afterschool Photography Counselor plans and implements activities that are age appropriate; and developmentally appropriate; while providing a safe and conducive environment for children to interact and engage in. The Afterschool Photography Counselor engages in and promotes the YMCA mission through the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.

Hours: Part Time Monday thru Friday; 2:40pm to 5:40pm.
Essential Duties Include:
- Provide supervision to assigned group of program participants.
- Develop and implement appropriate and engaging activities.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
- Attend staff trainings and staff meetings.
- Minimum 60 college credits from an accredited college or university in child development, psychology, sociology, education, recreation, or related field preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication skills; written; and verbal.
- Two to four years’ experience Teaching/Instructing in a specialty program area (i.e. sports, the arts, dance, STEM).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus.
- Flexible working at different sites (as needed).
- Previous experience working with adolescents preferred
