GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Physical Therapy Scheduler serves as the main point of contact for scheduling Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Services The Scheduler establishes a patient friendly environment to facilitate communication between patients and OrthoIndy Physical Therapy. Primary areas of focus include inbound and outbound appointment scheduling, triage of patient questions, insurance verification and authorization, and daily problem solving to ensure patients expectations and needs are met.


Essential Duties:


  • Pre-registers and registers all physical and occupational therapy patients in Meditech and TheraOffice by utilizing our clinic and ordering systems to input patient demographics as well as therapy orders.
  • Schedules and re-schedules all therapy appointments in TheraOffice as needed.
  • Obtains, submits, and tracks authorizations for various insurances by faxing authorization requests, following up by phone, or using online tools.
  • Answers all incoming calls and returns voicemails in a timely manner.
  • Obtains all insurance benefit information in a timely manner for follow-up appointments as well as initial therapy evaluations by calling insurance companies, faxing benefit information sheets, or utilizing online tools.
  • Responsible for backing up members of the Admissions Therapy team at times, which may include changing stations or assignments briefly

ADP, Allscripts, OrthoTalent, Incident reporting, Meditech, Microsoft Office, Moxee, TheraOffice,
Insurance systems


Requirements
:


  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1-2 years of patient registration experience required; 2-4 years preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and high level of accuracy and attention to detail a must
