Overview:
Helio Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) for our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC) in Syracuse, NY. The ICSC operates on a 24/7 basis providing urgent response and/or treatment services to patients experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis.

The Physician Assistant will provide medical/psychiatric evaluation of patients at this brand-new center which is responsible servicing Onondaga, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, and Oswego counties.

Responsibilities:
  • The Physician Assistant works independently under the administrative supervision of the Service Director and the medical and clinical supervision of the Medical Director and/or Physician.
  • The Physician Assistant works with patients, agency staff and volunteers, community agencies and other providers of medical/psychiatric services.
  • Provide direct patient care of medical examination and monitoring, implementation of medical orders, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
  • Serve on special review and quality assurance committees as assigned.
  • Provide and document medical consultation, assessment, examination, treatment planning and review consistent with agency policy and requirements.
  • Other related assignments and duties consistent with training and experience.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a licensed Physician Assistant currently registered by the NYS Education Department.
  • At least one year of experience or comparable training in the treatment of substance abuse and/or dependency.
  • Have prescriptive authority and a DEA number.
