ACTIVITY LEADER, EXTENDED DAY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To coordinate and perform specified job tasks that relate to student before and after school care in the Extended Day Enrichment Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- One year of successful experience in a before/after school program preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Technical and professional knowledge with a level of understanding and ability to provide an enriching environment for elementary students. Ability to help provide a safe Extended Day Enrichment Program. Ability to assist in an emergency situation. Ability to communicate effectively with school based personnel, parents and the public. Ability to assist children in the learning process.
REPORTS TO:
Extended Day Enrichment Program Site Manager
SUPERVISES:
Enrolled students
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver age appropriate activities to students.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of the Extended Day Enrichment Program population.
- Assist students with homework.
- Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
- Model and maintain high ethical standards.
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Report to the Site Manager any health or safety concerns immediately.
- Document behavior issues and accidents with provided forms.
- Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The Activity Leader, Extended Day Enrichment Program is a 10 month position, aligned with the school calendar.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

Current SDMC Regular Day Employees:
- Salaried SDMC Employees - $25/hr.
- Hourly SDMC Employees - SDMC hourly rate plus OT
Outside SDMC Regular Day Employees:
- With a BA degree or higher - $25/hr.
- Without a BA degree or higher - $15/hr.
