Job description
We're seeking a skilled Project Manager who can apply engineering theory and technical skills to support manufacturing activities. You will be a pivotal part of the manufacturing function breaking down complex projects into a sub-set of manageable, well-defined activities that can be controlled and monitored to achieve project objectives and expected deliverables.

As a Project Manager you will:
  • Prepare layouts, drawings, or sketches such as shop tooling, scale layouts, using drafting equipment or computer-aided design software.
  • Isolation of project requirements and expectations.
  • Establish project scope, guidelines, deliverables and metrics.
  • Identify customer required submittals and work with team members to meet submittal schedule.
  • Establish a project schedule.
  • Plan, estimate and / or schedule shop work.
  • Submit purchase requisitions for raw material, hardware, outside processes, etc. as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in quality, cost, or efficiency.
  • Monitor or measure manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements, or improve quality.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and practices.

The Qualified Candidates will:
  • Have at least 3-5 years of manufacturing experience. Preferably in a Job Shop, Machine Shop environment.
  • Carry a degree in or have significant working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Have a strong background and knowledge of machine tools, their uses, capabilities, and work holding techniques.
  • Be knowledgeable in design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D cad models.
  • Have knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Have experience in management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Be familiar with most types of machine tools and their capabilities.
  • Have basic understanding of ASME and ASTM codes, MIL and ANSI standards
  • Proficient using SolidWorks will be a big plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products especially Excel and Project.
  • Must have excellent organizational and strong communication skills
