Job description
Silgan Closures is seeking a PLANT ENGINEER at our Athens, GA manufacturing facility to help optimize the conditions for upstream and downstream equipment for injection and compression machinery to produce our plastic closures.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee and maintain all plant equipment which includes air compressors, air dryers, chillers, and water tower systems.
- Set up training to strengthen the maintenance staff.
- Work on corrective items as it pertains to safety, quality, and repetitive actions.
- Write, quote, and carry out all capital projects while maintaining the projects timeline and budget.
- Maintain the production monitoring system, employee communications, and material tracking system.

Job Requirements:
What you’ll need:
- Associates degree or equivalent in experience.
- Minimum seven (7) years related maintenance experience, specifically in processing injection and/or compression molding equipment or related plastic manufacturing.
- Experience in maintaining and training plant personnel in plastics industry.
- Background in AutoCAD software or similar.
- Working knowledge of AB SLC500, AB ControlLogix, AB CCW, Omron PLCs, vision software, Unitronics software, Redlion Crimson software.
