Summary: Travels around the entire plant as a utility operator. Which could be anything from delivery of parts, scanning papers, cleaning offices, running machines, running any kind of production activity. Following the directive of supervisor as well working unsupervised.

• 
  Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Clock in labor tracking program using basic computer skills.
• Follows verbal and written work instructions and procedures specific to job orders (i.e. routers, travelers)
• Operates equipment or performs processes using efficient procedures to ensure meeting production standards, (i.e. Assembly, Packing, Bending, Piercing, Deburring, Sawing, Sorting, Reworking, Buffing, and help other operators.
• Uses necessary measuring tools to ensure required quality standards are met and performs quality checks per requirements.
• Maintains all traceability of product recording written data to work order.
• Check in raw material and put away accordingly.
• Dump Scrap chip hoppers daily or as needed.
• Safety moves product and long tools through work cell by hand or carts.
• Communicate with team members on daily material process flow, to include safety and continuous improvement projects.
• Pack parts as required per instructions.
• Seeks assistance of lead persons to make necessary adjustments to machinery and equipment.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Team
• Follow safety policy, i.e. Safety procedures, OSHA requirements, PPE requirements
• Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
• Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
• Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
• Works at different work stations as production needs require.
• Follows safety procedures accordingly.
• Responsible for deburring and finish operations on the appropriate jobs in the order needed to meet production schedules.
• Maintain time log for all work orders processed.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, internal sketches, and specifications provided by engineering.
• Perform quality work.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
• Empties tenants’ trash and garbage containers.
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk.

Education and/or Experience

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
